The project involved the design of a unique wayfinding product family for the city of Tampere. The venture was part of Sito Oy's progressive pedestrian wayfinding system project for Tampere's city center. The challenge was to create accessible, user-centric, cost-effective, and sustainable wayfinding devices that also support and strengthen Tampere's modern image while encouraging users to explore their surroundings.

We thoroughly explored the aspects guided by the pedestrian wayfinding system of Tampere's city center that shaped our design work. Our research involved an extensive study of the city of Tampere's downtown street space guidelines and its graphic instructions.

The product design process progressed from sketching to shaping the dynamic form and visual appearance of the wayfinding devices. In the end, we brought to life a product family of wayfinding devices that were both functional and well-designed. The final product was filled with thoughtful implementations that took into account user needs, accessibility, and the principles of sustainable development.
